In 2006, the Senior Living Institute (SLI) was established
as a nonprofit resource center to help seniors and their families
deal with the daily challenges of life as we age.
The Senior Living Institute is the community education
initiatives of PHS Senior
Living funded through a grant from PHS
Senior Living Foundation and generous donations.
The Institute will strive to enhance the quality of our lives as we age by:
- Providing information that is easily accessible, relevant and timely through forums, website information and resources, and continuing education to make life easier for people who are facing the challenges of aging.
- Creating communities and networks because individuals are healthier and make the best choices in the time of need when they are in strong, supportive relationships.
- Offering seniors, who as a group have so much to offer for the betterment of society, opportunities for civic engagement, through volunteerism or employment opportunities.
With so many more people living into their 80’s, 90’s or even past 100 our programs are tailored to discuss the new needs arising in this second stage of retirement.
The Senior Living Institute, with its continually updated information, is committed to assisting people as we age to make easy transitions that will allow us to live as independently as possible by providing a single resource that will link us to a world full of information.
