The Greeks believed that the human body was balanced when each of three parts received daily attention:

  1. The Body

  2. The Mind

  3. The Spirit

 Whether we are working or playing, each of these parts requires “feeding.”
Ask yourself, what are you doing for each part of you every day?  Try maintaining a log and then discover the truth about yourself.  For example, 20 minutes of physical activity and six hours channel surfing on television is not balance.  Then we wonder why we are not well.  The wisdom of many who age successfully is that they have intentionally organized their day to engage in activities which serve the three parts of the human being. 

The Senior Living Institute encourages through its programs, forums and experts the development of healthy physical, mental and spiritual habits as well as the opportunity to further these habits with people of like interests.
